Aamir Khan's perfectionist streak continues with Ghajini!

Aamir Khan has yet again displayed his perfectionist streak! He managed to convince the makers of Ghajini to make a quick trip to South Africa for shooting just a four minute song.

A source tells us, "Aamir was shooting in South Africa a few months back for some important scenes and a duet number. But during the shooting of action scenes, Aamir encountered a leg injury and he had to rush back to India. The duet number which was to be shot on him and debutante Asin was left to be picturised. But then after Aamir got back in shape he expressed his wish to the makers that they should again go back to South Africa to shoot the pending duet. By then almost the entire shoot of the film was over. But since Aamir insisted the producers were left with no choice but take the crew to South Africa in a special chartered flight." "Aamir is known for his secrecy concerning plots of his films and his character but this time he made a limit by even keeping the shooting location of the film a secret for the crew members right till they reached South Africa. Everything was kept hush hush and even after shooting the song the crew members were told not to disclose anything." the source adds. "Ghajini's director, AR Murugadoss was a bit hesitant initially as it would escalate the cost but Aamir convinced him that he wanted nothing but the best for the film and for that reason alone, the director had no choice but to relent." concludes the source. Ghajini starring Aamir Khan, Asin, Jiah Ali Khan and Pradeep Singh Rawat is releasing on December 25th worldwide with over 1500 prints.

Hrithik Roshan thanks Shah Rukh for item song!

Mumbai, March 15 : Shah Rukh Khan went out of his way to accommodate Rakesh Roshan and his banner by shooting an item song for their production "Krazzzy 4". And Hrithik Roshan cannot thank him enough.

"I'm doing the song for my own home production. But Shah Rukh has gone out of his way to accommodate the project because he respects my dad. His gesture has touched all of us. It's very kind of him. He doesn't need to dance."

Hrithik can't stop raving about the item song. "It's the best dance track I've ever performed. My uncle Rajesh Roshan has outdone himself. Vishal Dadlani, who has sung the number, has also been extremely gracious. He didn't accept the cheque that my dad gave after the song. He did it for my dad and uncle. As a family, we Roshans are overwhelmed by the respect that has been shown by everyone associated with the item song."

Tell him it's because of the respect his father's banner commands; and Hrithik corrects me. "No, I think it's more to do with the kind of person my father is. If he was some one else, Shah Rukh, Vishal and everyone else wouldn't have gone out of their way to accommodate us, no matter how successful we may be. I think my dad has earned the respect he gets. He doesn't command it."

Hrithik further says: "Shah Rukh's version of the song will be part of the main movie, while mine will be used at the end of the title; and also on MTV, Channel V and other promotional campaigns for television."

With the triumphant "Jodhaa Akbar" behind him, Hrithik is now looking forward to starting his next film with Anurag Basu. "That's one film I'm really looking forward to. I'm a big fan of Anurag's cinema. I think he's a very sensitive director. He is going to do something different with me. I can't say much about the subject, but it will be a different experience for me."

The industry was abuzz about Sonam Kapoor starring as Hrithik's leading lady in Anurag's film. "Both Dad and I think Sonam is wonderful. But she was not considered for Anurag's film. The character needs someone from abroad. I'll have an international co-star in Anurag's film."

Hrithik and Aishwarya looked pretty international in "Dhoom 2" and "Jodhaa Akbar". "I can't dispute that. It's true. Ash and I share a good rapport. It's always fun to work with a co-star who is not selfish. We gave so much of ourselves to 'Jodhaa Akbar'. Aishwarya has been one of my most helpful co-stars. I really like working with her. She is an incredible actor and an even better co-star. Since all three of us - Abhishek, Aishwarya and I - are friends, we've great fun even when we are not shooting."

Hrithik craves for the perfect chemistry with his co-star. "I don't think it's possible for me to give my best if my co-star isn't doing the same. I try to surround myself with like-minded people. I think I've found the right people operating in my frequency to work it, be it Ashutosh Gowariker, Sanjay Gadhvi, Aditya Chopra or my dad. I'm fortunate, I guess."

'Deadly' Bachchan!

Is that the Boogeyman, we asked almost instantaneously when we got a dekko of Amitabh Bachchan's *avatar *in Ravi Chopra's next production, Bhoothnath. Long nails, ruffled hair, termite nibbled jacket, unkempt appearance, the actor par excellence seems to have traveled to hell and back for his look in the film.

Bachchan Sr. however is quick to give due credit to director Vivek Sharma. "The director had a vision, I simply did what was asked of me," he said. Look designer Muneesh Sappel shares, "We had several options, I'm happy with our choice and the final outcome." And while producer Chopra describes Bhooth Bachchan's look as 'rocking', make-up man Deepak Sawant informs that Amitabh used to take one and a half hours to get into the ghostly garb, and only thirty minutes to get out of it.

Apparently, the first day of shoot was quite eventful. "There were a group of people waiting outside Amit*ji*'s van for his autograph, and when he emerged in his get-up, they were stunned and actually took a step back,"
narrates director Sharma, "He then tried to scare Juhi and everyone else on the sets, too. It was fun. There were screams and lots of laughter. Amit*ji*was extremely co-operative. Not once did he complain."

The *ghostly *experience was anything but ghastly for Bachchan. "It was 'deadly', literally and figuratively speaking. I enjoyed myself," he tells us. The movie, however, isn't one from the horror genre. "The kids are going to love it as much as the parents," explains Ravi Chopra. Bachchan, in the course of the motion picture, metamorphoses into a good 'soul'. So lets toast to this ghost who is actually a *dost*!

Aamir gifts himself a shave.

Today, the 14th of March is Aamir Khan’s birthday, and making it special is the gift that Aamir will be giving himself. Folks we are referring to him going bald. If you remember some time back Aamir had said that for his forth coming film Ghajini he will be getting into the character he plays and hence will shave his head. Well today is the D day when Aamir will be using the scissors to snip off his hair.

Apart from this it is also rumoured that the film Taare Zameen Par by far the best film that proved Aamir Khan’s prowess in directing films will be remade in Tamil and will be under Aamir’s own production banner. However he will not be directing the film, instead this part has fallen to the award winning actor-director Cheran.

If that’s not all, the second change will be who’s playing Aamir’s role in the film. The grapevine tells us that Aamir is keen on having either one of the Tollywood superstars Vikram or Surya play his role. While the part that Darsheel plays hasn’t yet been decided or finalized yet.

Let’s hope that the Tamil version is as good as the real one, as most remakes falling flat these days. However we tried to get in- touch with Aamir at his office and residence but he was not available for comments, while his co-workers say that they will have to ask the star before commenting on it.

Clinton apologizes to black voters

Hillary Rodham Clinton did something Wednesday night that she almost never does. She apologized. And once she started, she didn't seem able to stop.
The New York senator, who is in a tight race with Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination, struck several sorry notes at an evening forum sponsored by the National Newspaper Publishers Association, a group of more than 200 black community newspapers across the country.

Her biggest apology came in response to a question about comments by her husband, Bill Clinton, after the South Carolina primary, which Obama won handily. Bill Clinton said Jesse Jackson also won South Carolina when he ran for president in 1984 and 1988, a comment many viewed as belittling Obama's success.

"I want to put that in context. You know I am sorry if anyone was offended. It was certainly not meant in any way to be offensive," Hillary Clinton said. "We can be proud of both Jesse Jackson and Senator Obama."

"Anyone who has followed my husband's public life or my public life know very well where we have stood and what we have stood for and who we have stood with," she said, acknowledging that whoever wins the nomination will have to heal the wounds of a bruising, historic contest.

"Once one of us has the nomination there will be a great effort to unify the Democratic party and we will do so, because, remember I have a lot of supporters who have voted for me in very large numbers and I would expect them to support Senator Obama if he were the nominee," she said.

The Clintons long have enjoyed overwhelming support from black voters, but that has been eclipsed during the primaries and caucuses by enthusiasm and support for Obama, who has pulled huge margins among black voters. Arguments over the role of race and gender have flared up repeatedly throughout the contest between Obama, who would be the nation's first black president, and Clinton, who would be its first female one.

Earlier in the day, Hillary Clinton supporter and fundraiser Geraldine Ferraro gave up her honorary position with Clinton's campaign after she said in an interview last week that Obama would not have made it this far if he were white. Obama said Ferraro's remarks were "ridiculous" and "wrong-headed."

Of Ferraro's comment, Hillary Clinton told her audience: "I certainly do repudiate it and I regret deeply that it was said. Obviously she doesn't speak for the campaign, she doesn't speak for any of my positions, and she has resigned from being a member of my very large finance committee."

As first lady and senator, Clinton rarely cedes an inch to her critics. On the issue of her vote to authorize the Iraq war, for instance, she steadfastly has refused to apologize, coming close by saying she regrets it, despite calls from many anti-war voters in the party to make a more explicit mea culpa.

Her third conciliatory statement of the evening was more in keeping with that fighting stance.

Asked about the government's efforts in the Gulf States after Hurricane Katrina, Hillary Clinton turned an apology into a criticism of President Bush, who happened to be speaking at a Republican event in another room at the same hotel.

"I've said it publicly, and I say it privately: I apologize, and I am embarrassed that our government so mistreated our fellow citizens ... It was a national disgrace," she said.

Priyanka Chopra pledges to donate her organs

Priyanka Chorpa was present at the inaugural function of the 16th Annual Conference of the Indian National Association for Study of Liver (INASL). The event organized by the Army Medical Corp saw Priyanka turn up as she herself is the daughter of army personnel.

However, Priyanka not only graced the event but even pledged to donate her organs for the service of humanity. Apparently, the actress realized the importance of organ donation when her father was ill recently. Former cricketer and MP Navjot Singh Sidhu also pledged to donate his organs.

Must say here is one beauty who not only has a beautiful image on screen but has even touched many hearts off screen by this noble gesture

Himesh Reshammiya - The new 'Singh Is Kinng'?

While Akshay Kumar has been ruling the roost as a reigning Singh Is Kinng, guess who has turned into a Punjabi munda with a vengeance? It is none other than 'sadda' Himesh Reshammiya! Even though he belongs to Gujarati origin, Himesh has developed a sudden fascination for anything and everything which is Punjabi. Reason? His character in his upcoming film M2KNDM2K (Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekkh Mudh Mudh Ke) is that of a modern boy who hails from Delhi.

So much has the actor/composer/singer immersed himself into the character that he has started conversing with everyone around him in Punjabi. Chuckles a source attached to the crew of the film which is currently filming Karzzzz in Cape Town, "Himesh bhai, or shall I now say Himesh paaji, is going an extra mile to get prepared for the character he enacts in M2KNDM2K. Since learning Punjabi doesn't happen in a day or a week, he has already started working on getting the accent right. So much so that he speaks to everyone on the sets in Punjabi only."

When contacted Himesh was initially reluctant to talk about his preparation plans for M2KNDM2K. However, he did confess that he was required to pick up the Delhi lingo. He said, "See, you are required to work hard on any role that you play, whether in terms of body language, mannerisms or the way you speak. To add authenticity to the character, it is very important to get the accent right. We all know that Delhites have a very peculiar accent and one can't afford to allow a slip here or there."

Himesh goes on to add, "M2KNDM2K is a modern day love triangle and it travels from India (Delhi and Punjab) to Paris. I don't want to miss out on the detailed nuances that a Delhi boy would have in his character and hence have started practicing right away."

Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekkh Mudh Mudh Ke introduces a new leading lady Jenifer Kotwal opposite Himesh. The film also features Niharika Singh for whom this will be her second film with Himesh. M2KNDM2K will be produced by Aditya Singh (of Jagannath Films, earlier partner in Contiloe films) and directed by debutant duo of Seema and Sudhir.

Akshay to romance Katrina amidst pyramids!

Mumbai, March 12 : Akshay Kumar is hell bent on covering the seven wonders of the world. Currently, he is preparing to shoot action scenes on the Great Wall of China and next month he plans a stint in Egypt amid the pyramids.

This time, it's for a song with Katrina Kaif in "Singh Is King".

"We'll be shooting the introductory song of the lead pair. This will be where Akshay first meets Katrina. The film is complete after this," Vipul Shah, who teamed up with Aneez Bazmi for the movie, told IANS.

The last time a romantic song was shot amid the blow-dried pyramids of Egypt, it featured Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in Karan Johar's "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham".

"Not surprising that Akshay wants the song to be canned in Egypt. He wants to better Shah Rukh Khan's success score with Kajol. Most trade pundits see Akshay and Katrina as the next most-successful couple after Shah Rukh-Kajol," the director said.

After "Namastey London" and "Welcome", Akshay really feels Katrina is his lucky mascot.

"But we aren't shooting in all the normal places in Egypt. We want to capture parts of the country other than the predictable pyramids," Bazmi said.

Deepika-Ranbir to be directed by Imtiaz Ali

Now that their relationship is out in the open, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone seem to have overnight become the most talked-about couple in filmdom. Sadly, just after cementing their relationship during the long outdoor spell of Yash Raj Films' Bachna Ae Haseenon in Australia, Deepika had to leave for a long shooting schedule of Nikhil Advani's Chandni Chowk To China.
