Beating Australia 'pinnacle of cricket'

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) says beating Australia on home soil is the pinnacle of world cricket.

India wrapped up the one-day tri-series with a nine-run win in last night's second final in Brisbane.

BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah says Indian fans are savouring the win over the world's best team.

"It is every cricketers dream that they want to beat Australia," Mr Shah said.

"In any sport any team who beats the best team is the best feeling"

Mr Shah says the BCCI has no major concerns about crowd behaviour or any of the issues that flared during the team's tour of Australia.

Disputes between Australian and Indian players, particularly Harbhajan Singh, overshadowed much of the on-field action this summer.

Mr Shah says the interaction between the crowd and Harbhajan was mostly in good spirit.

"They picked on him but anyhow it's part of the game and you take it as sporting," Mr Shah said.

"We have no ill feeling and I think Harbhajan will be the most popular person in Australia."
