Six Reliance employees drown in Raigad

Mumbai, Feb 25 : Six employees of Reliance were killed during a picnic Monday when they went out of their depth in the sea at Digha beach in neighbouring Raigad district, around 150 km from here, police said. Two of the victims were women.

'The bodies of five of the victims have been found and search for the sixth is on,' Raigad Superintendent Of Police (SP) P.R. Digavkar told IANS.

All six victims were employees of Reliance at Mahape near Raigad.

According to Digavkar, the victims were between 25 and 35 years old. 'The incident occurred at 12.30 p.m. when the picnickers went too deep into the sea and were pulled in due to low tide,' Digavkar said.
